Surgins had the honour to be part of a two-day UK trade mission that the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) planned to New York City over 20-21 June 2024.
This exclusive experience helped us in exploring the opportunities of supplying the United Nations (UN) and its affiliated organizations, including UNICEF, WHO, UNOPS and UNPD.
The UN agencies in New York procure around $30 billion annually in a wide range of goods and services, including healthcare (Surgical and Dental equipment).
The UK is highly regarded as a supplier to the United Nations and its agencies, and for many years has featured in the Top 10 League Table.
In 2022, the United Kingdom was the third largest country supplier to the UN and procurement from UK Suppliers reached a record high of $1.3 billion, presenting sizable commercial opportunities for UK suppliers across sectors.
This Trade Mission involved a number of sessions held at the British Consulate in New York and the British Residence that provided an opportunity to learn more about UN procurement processes, trends and opportunities; as well as to network with key decision-makers from the UN procurement teams related to healthcare sector.
It also provided Opportunities for focused discussions at 1:1 meeting with the Team Lead/Chief for Procurement for the UN Healthcare Section for upcoming needs relevant to Surgins prospects.
